THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will announce the latest developments into several high-profile corruption cases - involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Op Sikaro and senior management of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)this Tuesday.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said there are many pending corruption cases including those that occurred last year and the people need to be informed of their progress.
"I will announce the latest developments in several pending high-profile corruption cases, such as Op Sikaro, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri (Yaakob), DBKL and so on. My press conference is on September 9.
"We are still conducting investigations into Op Sikaro and looking at people who obtained proceeds from illegal activities.
"My officers are still conducting analyses because there are many accounts involved, hundreds of accounts, and that is why I have asked for a delay so that I can provide more accurate information," he told the media as reported by Berita Harian.
Earlier, he officiated the Opening and Handover Ceremony of the Kampung Terentang Batu Kikir Public Hall in conjunction with the One Leader One Village (Santuni MADANI) Programme in Kuala Pilah.
Azam said that the MACC is doing its best to expedite all high-profile cases because they do not want the public to think MACC is delaying investigations. - September 7, 2025
