THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body following an investigation into the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report on Tabung Haji.
The individuals, aged 68 and 60, were arrested on suspicion of abusing their power in the process of purchasing shares in two plantation companies worth RM370 million.
According to sources, both were arrested when they appeared to give statements at the MACC Headquarters at 6.30 pm yesterday.
However, the suspects were released last night due to health reasons and will appear again at the MACC this morning to continue recording their statements.
MACC Chief Commissioner, Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.
He added that the case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
Two individuals were also arrested earlier in connection with a special investigation launched in connection with the RCI report on TH.
The two suspects, comprising a company director and a former plantation manager, were arrested upon their arrival at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to give statements. – August 5, 2026
