THE home of Sabah PAS Commissioner, Datuk Aliakbar Gulasan, was splashed with red paint in an incident believed to be intended as an act of intimidation.
The incident was discovered around 8am on Friday, prompting a police report to be lodged at the Alamesra Police Station.
In his report, Aliakbar stated that his child had found a piece of paper with the word "DATUK" scrawled in red paint, alongside a stone, outside their front gate.
"A transparent plastic bag containing a rock and red paint was also found, with some of the paint having struck the wall of my house," he said.
Aliakbar explained that the police report was made as a safety precaution in case of further incidents, and to allow authorities to investigate the matter.
"I made this report for security reasons as I am concerned something more serious could happen later. I also hope the police will take the necessary action," he told reporters.
When asked whether he suspected any individual or group, Aliakbar declined to name anyone but said if the act was politically motivated, it was wholly inappropriate.
"We are not placing any blame or linking this to any specific issue. However, if this is politically driven, I consider such politics outdated," he said.
"Let us not allow such incidents to recur. We should practise democracy peacefully. Personally, I have never engaged in politics that involve insults or vulgarities."
"I have always conducted myself in politics with manners and ethics. I hope others, whether the public or fellow politicians, will also embrace respectful political culture, because our society values gentleness," he added.
Aliakbar also said that although he would refrain from making accusations, the incident had made him more cautious as he continues his political campaigning. - September 20, 2025
