BARISAN Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he would meet MIC president Tan Sri S A Vigneswaran soon to discuss the party's intention to join the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.

He said he would clarify the matter directly with the MIC president.

"I will ask him (Vigneswaran) myself," he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was previously reported to have welcomed the participation of any political party including MIC and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) interested in joining PN.

Vigneswaran on Monday said he did not rule out the possibility of the party joining the PN coalition but stressed that it was still too early to decide.

The MIC had earlier voiced dissatisfaction over being sidelined in the unity government, alleging it was denied a Cabinet post promised after the 2022 general election. -  September 20, 2025
