HUMAN body parts including the head, jaw, stomach and thigh were found in the stomach of a crocodile captured in Sungai Semanok, Tatau in the Bintulu Division, today.
A spokesperson for the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre (PGO) said the human body parts were believed to belong to Jeffery Masing Win, 21.
The victim was grabbed by the reptile while bathing in the stream with his brother, at about 8.30pm last Saturday.
During the incident, his brother tried to save the victim by pouncing on the vicious reptile but failed, before the crocodile carried Jeffery's body into the river and disappeared.
The search and rescue (SAR) operation, which entered its fourth day today, saw villagers successfully tracking and capturing the crocodile suspected of devouring its victim at 9.25am today.
The villagers then tied and pulled the crocodile to land near Rumah Panjang Win.
The rescue team consisting of JBPM, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) immediately went to the location upon receiving a report.
The surgical process on the crocodile carcass was then carried out by the SFC with assistance of firefighters at 10.30am.
"As a result, several human body parts were found in the animal's stomach.
"Following that, the procedure ended at about 11.10am and the parts were handed over to the police for further action," he said. - October 1, 2025
