PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed all outstanding matters concerning the BUDI MADANI RON95 fuel subsidy programme (BUDI95) to be resolved without delay, including special quota allocations for key user groups such as e-hailing and p-hailing drivers, taxi operators, fishermen in Sabah and Sarawak, and holders of Singapore driving licences.
Communications Minister and Madani Government Spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said today the directive aims to ensure these groups also benefit from the targeted subsidy initiative.
“The Prime Minister wants this issue ironed out quickly so that those eligible are not excluded from receiving the support they deserve under BUDI95,” Fahmi said at a post-Cabinet media conference today.
In a separate development, the Cabinet also discussed claims of Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour (CIB) linked to the Prime Minister’s official Facebook page.
Fahmi clarified that Meta, the parent company of Facebook, had confirmed to him that the 263 flagged accounts identified by a news portal were, in fact, authentic users.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian-led Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) is hours away from entering the volatile R3 red zone, roughly 100 nautical miles off Gaza, amid security concerns after an Israeli vessel and drones were detected near the humanitarian convoy earlier today.
“At 8.45am Malaysian time, a vessel believed to belong to the Israeli regime approached the flotilla, which at the time was in the ‘yellow zone’ of international waters,” said Fahmi. “This proximity, combined with the detection of around 10 drones, has raised significant concern.”
The convoy, coordinated by the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) under Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, remains on alert, with real-time CCTV livestreams from aboard the flotilla now accessible globally.
Fahmi also urged Malaysians to pray for the safety of the aid workers and the success of the humanitarian mission. While he confirmed that the Malaysian government has aided the GSF operation, he did not specify the nature of the support. - October 1, 2025
