THE Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has revoked the operating licence of the lorry company involved in the fatal crash at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza, effective immediately.
In a statement today, APAD confirmed that its investigation revealed the company had failed to equip the lorry with a mandatory Global Positioning System (GPS) device and had neglected its duty to ensure road safety for other users.
The agency said the action was taken under Section 62 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010.
“With the revocation of the operating licence, the company is prohibited from operating or providing any services using vehicles registered under the licence,” the statement read.
APAD emphasised it “will not compromise on cases involving dangerous driving of land public transport vehicles which could lead to accidents and endanger the safety of road users.”
The agency also issued a stern reminder to all licence holders to fully comply with operational conditions or risk similar enforcement actions, especially where public safety is at stake.
The fatal accident, which occurred on Saturday, 27 September, involved a lorry suspected of experiencing brake failure, along with a car and two sports utility vehicles (SUVs). The crash resulted in the death of an infant boy and left seven others injured. - October 2, 2025
