POLICE have launched an investigation after a video showing a four-wheel-drive vehicle displaying a Hebrew-language sticker went viral, with the text reportedly translating to “Malaysia is in our hands” or “Malaysia is our home”.

Melaka police chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar confirmed the case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for statements likely to cause public alarm, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities.

The incident came to light after a 14-second video was circulated online, prompting a formal police report lodged at 3.32pm yesterday by a man identified as the religious affairs officer to the Melaka Chief Minister.

“The complainant lodged the report after viewing the video, which showed an Isuzu vehicle bearing a sticker with Hebrew writing on the body of the vehicle,” said Dzulkhairi in a statement on Tuesday.

“Preliminary investigations indicate the wording translates to ‘Malaysia is our home’ or ‘Malaysia is in our hands’. The vehicle is registered to a man residing in Gemencheh, Negeri Sembilan.”

Dzulkhairi urged the public not to speculate on the matter and to allow the investigation to proceed transparently.

“Police will ensure the safety and harmony of society is preserved at all times,” he added. - October 8, 2025
