POLICE confirmed that they have found the weapon believed to have been used in the murder of a woman and her adopted daughter at their rented house in Kampung Sekolah, Juru on Saturday.

Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail said the discovery followed further investigations at the scene.

According to him, the weapon was found at the back of the victim's house.

"Yes, I can confirm that the police have found the weapon believed to have been used in the incident.

"However, the investigation is still ongoing and I cannot comment further on the type or condition of the weapon," he said on Monday.

Meanwhile, Azizee said two men, including a foreign national, were detained to assist in the investigation.

“Both men are 40 years old and were detained separately in Bukit Mertajam to assist in the investigation.

“They will be remanded in the Bukit Mertajam Court tomorrow (Tuesday),” he added.

Apart from that, he said, police were still conducting investigations to identify other suspects involved in the incident.

The bodies of the woman and her daughter were taken out of their rented house at about 1.45 am after the forensic and pathology teams had completed their investigation at the location.

The police also conducted an inspection around the house to look for evidence that could assist in the investigation.

It was earlier reported that the bodies of a 51-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were found by their husband at 7.30 pm at their rented house in Kampung Sekolah, Juru.

It is understood that the woman's body was found in the kitchen on the ground floor of the house with her head almost severed, while her daughter was found lying face down in a pool of blood on the upper floor of the house. - October 20, 2025
