A GIRL was found dead in a vehicle in Tanah Putih, here, Gua Musang yesterday evening.
The four-year-old victim was found unconscious in the vehicle before being confirmed dead from heat stroke at 3.50pm.
Gua Musang District Police Chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, said the victim was rushed to Gua Musang Hospital before being confirmed dead.
He said the post-mortem to identify the cause of death was carried out by a forensic pathologist and confirmed the cause of death was heat stroke.
“The case is classified as Sudden Death Report under Section 31(1)(a) of the Children Act 2001 and is still under investigation.
“The police advise the public not to make any speculation regarding this incident which could cause confusion to the community and the police also advise parents to ensure the safety of their children under their care and supervision,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Choon Foo asked the public who have information to come forward and channel it at the nearest police station or call 09-9121222.
