A SEVEN-year-old boy who survived an attempt by his mother to hang him at their house in Taman Perak, Kulim recently is reportedly still traumatised.

In the incident at 11.05pm on Tuesday, the victim survived after the cloth tied around his neck came off when his mother pushed him down an aluminium ladder.

However, his mother was found hanging while his four-year-old sister was found dead on a mattress in a room in the house, believed to have been murdered by her mother before that.

Chairman of the Kedah Welfare, Women, Family and Community and Unity Standing Committee, Datuk Halimaton Shaadiah Saad said that the Social Welfare Department (JKM) had received initial information through the police from the Kulim District Police Headquarters (IPD) and Kulim Hospital regarding the child.

She said that the child's biological father had been successfully traced and confirmed that his child was currently traumatized and was still receiving treatment at Kulim Hospital, reported BuletinTV3.

Halimaton Shaadiah said the child's biological father was ready to take care of his child after he is discharged from the hospital.

"Based on the medical report, the child suffered neck injuries due to abrasions.

"He is a Year One student at a school in Paya Besar, Kulim.

"JKM officers will conduct a visit and investigation at the biological father's house after the child is discharged from the hospital," she said.

It was earlier reported that a woman and her four-year-old daughter were found dead in a house in Taman Perak, on Tuesday night.

Police confirmed the incident as a murder case and are investigating under Section 302 for murder and Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder. – November 6, 2025
