DATUK Seri Hajiji Noor said the decision by two Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) leaders, Datuk Jamawi Jaafar and Datuk George Hiew, to contest as PKR candidates in the state election is their democratic right.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced Jamawi and Hiew as PKR candidates for the Melalap and Karamunting state seats, respectively.

"We are partners in the government, so it is okay. We did not lend any candidates. That is the dynamic of politics in Sabah.

"We have let them go... so let it be. We’ll support them because they are Pakatan candidates," he said.

However, Hajiji, who is also the president of Gagasan Rakyat, said the duo can no longer be part of Gagasan. – November 10, 2025
