A 23-YEAR-old man was found wearing women's pajamas when he was arrested with a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of khalwat in a room at a shophouse in Taman Kota Kenari, Kulim, Perak this morning.

Kulim District Religious Enforcement Officer, Anwar Sharifuddin Mat Saad said the raid was carried out at about 9.50am following public information regarding suspicious activity at the premises.

“The results of the inspection found that the couple were alone in a room and failed to show any legal relationship as husband and wife.

"The teenage girl involved, who is single, works at a snooker centre in Lunas and has only been renting the premises for three months, he told Kosmo!

According to Anwar Sharifuddin, initial investigations found that she knew the man through the younger sister of the male suspect who worked with her at the snooker centre.

He said that the young man was said to have just quit his factory job and was living with his parents in a nearby village, but often sent and picked up the teenage girl to and from work.

"During the raid, the teenage girl was wearing a dress while the male suspect was wearing the teenage girl's Doraemon cartoon pajamas.

"The couple admitted that they were not husband and wife. The male suspect gave the excuse that he was only sleeping over after sending the teenage girl home," he said.

He added that the couple involved were taken to the Kulim District Religious Office for further investigation under Section 25 (a) (b) of the Kedah Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment (EKJSK) 2014 on suspicion of khalwat. - November 20, 2025
