THE Malaysian Consulate General in Songkhla has issued a travel advisory to Malaysians following severe weather and flooding that has hit several areas in southern Thailand.
In a statement issued today, the consulate informed that areas in the south of the country are currently facing continuous heavy rains and flooding that are affecting the safety and movement of residents.
Accordingly, Malaysians planning to travel or visit southern Thailand are advised to postpone their trip until the weather conditions stabilize.
“Malaysians are advised to be aware of the weather conditions, follow the announcements, news and advice of local authorities and take care of their own safety,” the statement said.

Thailand’s disaster agency in a statement said the affected districts were Rattaphum, Muang Songkhla, Khlong Hoi Khong, Ranot, Krasae Sin, Sathing Phra and Hatyai.
Meanwhile, a Malaysian woman and her two toddlers stranded by floods in Hatyai, Thailand, have called for help from the embassy and the public.
Lily Suraini, who is staying at the Siam Oriental Hotel in Hatyai, made her appeal via Facebook, asking for essential supplies like milk and disposable nappies for her children, aged two and four years.
She added that many others at the hotel, including those with babies, need assistance. – November 22, 2025
