SABAH PKR chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud was among the first to cast his vote today in the Tempasuk state constituency, heading to Sekolah Taun Gusi in Kota Belud as the state’s 17th general election unfolded.

The Sepanggar MP encouraged Sabahans to attend polling stations early, highlighting that the region’s unpredictable weather could hinder voter turnout for those who delay.

He also urged constituents to carefully select candidates capable of defending their rights and effectively articulating local concerns in the State Assembly, ensuring these matters receive attention at the federal level.

“This election should pave the way for a stable, united, and cooperative state administration that works constructively with Putrajaya and pushes forward the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” he said, emphasising the importance of Sabah’s long-standing claim to 40 per cent of federal revenue collected within the state.

“It is a matter that must benefit all Sabahans,” Mustapha added, underscoring the need for elected representatives to prioritise equitable development and local interests. - November 29, 2025
