HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has granted permission for the Federal Government to utilise two high-powered airboats owned by His Majesty as part of national flood rescue operations.

In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, His Majesty conveyed his consent in view of the current spell of unpredictable weather and the need for security and emergency agencies to be fully prepared should a second wave of flooding occur.

“Both airboats are currently stationed at Istana Negara and are expected to enhance operational efficiency and expedite the delivery of emergency assistance,” the post stated.

His Majesty has a history of deploying royal assets for public welfare. In March 2023, three of the King’s airboats were mobilised in Johor to rescue, evacuate and assist flood victims.

The vessels were also used to deliver food supplies to Orang Asli settlements in Kluang that had been cut off by the disaster.

As of this morning, four states remain affected by flooding: Perak with 2,690 evacuees, Selangor with 699, Perlis with 207 and Pahang with 28.

Reiterating his commitment through a second statement, Sultan Ibrahim said: “Both airboats are stationed at Istana Negara and are expected to increase the efficiency of operations and accelerate the delivery of emergency aid.” - December 4, 2025
