PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has not yet approached DAP’s leadership for discussions on either a Cabinet reshuffle or the filling of existing ministerial vacancies, according to the party’s secretary-general, Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
Speaking in Seremban on Saturday, Loke underlined that while the structuring of the Cabinet is “indeed the prerogative of the Prime Minister”, any decisions would typically be made after consultation with leaders of the respective parties.
“This is a discussion between party leaders and the Prime Minister. Thus far, the Prime Minister has not spoken to me,” he said.
“When the discussion takes place, each party will of course provide its views, and I myself will give my views to him in person,” he added.
Loke, who is also the Member of Parliament for Seremban, told reporters after officiating the groundbreaking ceremony for the Seremban Sentral Transit-Oriented Development that he has received no indication from Anwar as to when any announcement on a Cabinet reshuffle might be made.
Asked whether he was satisfied with the performance of DAP ministers, Loke said he would raise the matter directly with the Prime Minister.
Anwar previously stated that any Cabinet adjustments would be minor and aimed primarily at filling vacant ministerial posts, noting that his administration’s Cabinet would only be in operation for roughly another year and a half before the end of its term.
Media reports earlier suggested that the Prime Minister was expected to announce the reshuffle in early December. - December 6, 2025
