THE Government is reinforcing its commitment to implementing a more inclusive social protection framework, aiming to ensure that every segment of society receives comprehensive and effective support.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised that social protection policies must be better coordinated so that critical services, including rehabilitation centres, intervention assistance, and welfare support, are delivered promptly and efficiently.
“I emphasise the need to implement programmes inclusively, covering the entire nation and all segments of society, including the provision of essential services such as rehabilitation centres.
“Laws and regulations relating to these initiatives also need to be reviewed to accelerate implementation and maximise the impact for the people,” he said.
The Prime Minister made the remarks while chairing the ninth meeting of the Malaysian Social Protection Council (MySPC), session 2 of 2025, held today.
During the same meeting, Anwar also expressed appreciation and congratulated the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) on its reappointment as President of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for the 2026–2028 term.
The council took note of improvements to the PADU system, driven by the Ministry of Economy, as well as presentations from PERKESO, the World Bank, and the Ministry of Economy aimed at strengthening the nation’s social protection ecosystem.
“I also value the publication of the Malaysia Social Protection Statistics 2024, which serves as an important reference to enhance the effectiveness of policy delivery to citizens across the country,” he added. - December 9, 2025
