SEVEN foreign nationals were denied entry into Malaysia yesterday at the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint after failing to meet immigration requirements, authorities confirmed.
Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir, Commander of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) at Bukit Kayu Hitam, said the group comprised five Indian nationals and two Thai nationals, all men aged between their twenties and forties.
“They were refused entry upon arrival at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex after officers discovered they did not hold valid return tickets and were suspected of not being genuine tourists,” Mohd Nasaruddin explained.
He added that during questioning by Immigration Department officers, the individuals were unable to provide a legitimate reason for entering Malaysia.
“This action is in accordance with the provisions of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” he said, noting that the seven were instructed to return to their countries of origin via the same entry route, with no property or possessions confiscated.
Mohd Nasaruddin emphasised that AKPS Bukit Kayu Hitam remains committed to maintaining secure and orderly entry points, ensuring they are not exploited for unlawful purposes.
