A BUSINESSMAN’s attempt to pick up his cellphone that had fallen under his seat while driving led to an accident when his car skidded on Jalan Sungai Rambai, Kuala Langat yesterday evening.

Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, said the incident at 3.20pm involved a Porsche Panamera driven by a local man in his 40s.

"Investigations found that the victim was travelling from Shah Alam to Jenjarom.

"Upon arriving at the location, the driver used his cellphone to open the Google Maps application, and the device fell under his seat," he said.

 Mohd Akmalrizal said that while trying to retrieve his cellphone, the victim lost control of his vehicle and skidded to the left and over a ditch before coming to a stop on a cliff.

"The driver was not injured and has a valid driving license.
