DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the police will submit a report on the case of three men shot dead in Melaka last month to the Attorney General today for further action.
The Prime Minister said he received assurances from the Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, that a thorough and transparent investigation would be conducted without any compromise.
"The police report was submitted to the Attorney General today for further action," he said during a question and answer session at the Dewan Negara, today as reported by Berita Harian.
On November 24, three criminals aged between 24 and 29 were shot dead after one of them attacked a police officer with a machete at an oil palm plantation in Durian Tunggal.
On December 3, the media reported that family members of the three criminals involved rejected claims that the three dead suspects acted violently by attacking the police.
Following this, the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) set up a special team to investigate claims made by family members of the three male suspects who were dissatisfied with the police's actions.
The shooting incident occurred at around 4.30am when three men aged between 24 and 29 were shot dead after one of them swung a machete at a policeman at an oil palm plantation in Durian Tunggal.
As a result of the attack, the policeman, a corporal in his early 30s, was seriously injured in his left arm.
The three suspects are suspected of being involved in 20 criminal cases in Melaka and one case each in Negeri Sembilan and Selangor, with total losses estimated at RM1.35 million. - December 16, 2025
