THE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has confirmed a temporary reduction in retail prices for non-subsidised petrol and diesel, effective from 18 December 2025 until 24 December 2025, as part of ongoing adjustments in line with international oil market trends.

Under the new pricing, non-subsidised RON95 petrol will fall by 2 sen to RM2.62 per litre, while RON97 will be reduced by 3 sen to RM3.24 per litre.

Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will drop by 4 sen, to RM3.02 per litre.

Prices for subsidised RON95 under the BUDI95 scheme will remain at RM1.99 per litre, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will stay at RM2.15 per litre.

The Ministry of Finance stressed that the reductions are calculated using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) and reiterated that maintaining price stability remains the Government’s foremost priority.

“Price stability remains the foremost priority, even as adjustments are made to reflect international market movements,” the Ministry said in a release on Wednesday.

The measures are aimed at safeguarding public welfare while ensuring that fuel prices remain fair and responsive to global economic conditions.

The Ministry also affirmed its commitment to monitor global oil prices continuously and take appropriate measures to mitigate the impact of any future volatility on Malaysian consumers. - December 17, 2025
