UMNO Youth will hold a special convention to enable party members to voice their opinions on the direction and cooperation of UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Unity Government.

Its chief, Datuk Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh, said the convention titled “Hala Tuju Umno, Sama Ada Kekal Atau Keluar Dari Kerajaan” (Umno’s Direction: Stay or Leave the Government) will be held on January 3, at the Tun Ismail Hall, World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur.

He called on all UMNO members to attend the convention, especially in expressing their stance on whether UMNO and BN should remain or leave the government today.

“I would like to invite all those who still love the UMNO struggle and dare to voice our heartfelt wishes to attend the UMNO Youth Special Convention on 3 January 2026 at the WTC.

“This party belongs to all of us. We are not just talking, but we do what we say. Whether we stay or leave, we are the ones who decide” he said via his Facebook page today.

Muhamad Akmal, invited the entire UMNO leadership to also attend the special convention and listen to the hearts and wishes of the grassroots members.

He added that what will be achieved and decided in the convention will then be brought to the UMNO Supreme Council before being submitted to party President, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

In a related development, Muhamad Akmal also expressed his appreciation for the action of Selangor UMNO Youth and Puchong Division UMNO in deciding not to cooperate with Pakatan Harapan (PH) Puchong.

He said Puchong Member of Parliament, Yeo Bee Yin, until now seems to have ignored the demand for an apology for her statement celebrating the court decision against Datuk Seri Najib Razak which hurt the feelings of UMNO members. - December 28, 2025
