FORMER Army Chief, Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, believed to be assisting in the investigation into the Malaysian Army (TDM) procurement tender case.
He arrived in a white luxury car, wearing a white shirt and black pants at 3.10 pm.
The highest-ranking TDM officer was accompanied by several individuals into the MACC headquarters building.
Last month, Defence Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin was reported to have announced that Muhammad Hafizuddeain had been ordered on leave with immediate effect until the investigation into the case reported against him was completed.
Muhammad Hafizuddeain's position was then filled by General Datuk Azhan Md Othman effective January 1.
Mohamed Khaled reportedly said that the move was to give authorities space to investigate certain allegations that had been reported involving the officer.
The statement did not detail the case involving Muhammad Hafizuddeain, but it is believed to be following reports that the MACC was intensifying investigations into military procurement.
Earlier on December 23, media reports quoted MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki as confirming that an investigation paper had been opened under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
It is understood that the MACC's initial investigation focused on projects implemented through the open tender procurement method and procurement under the Army Responsibility Centre (PTJ).
Before that, the MACC was reported to have taken a complaint and recorded a statement from the Port Dickson Division BERSATU Chief, Chegubard or real name, Badrul Hisham Shaharin, regarding the details of the information he had obtained. – January 7, 2026
