THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has commended the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), particularly the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) of the Johor contingent and the Pontian District Police Headquarters (IPD Pontian), for their swift action in apprehending a suspect believed to be involved in a series of break-ins and thefts at the National Information Distribution Centres (NADI) across Johor.

Between September and December 2025, Johor recorded thirteen separate incidents targeting NADI facilities, resulting in the loss of cash and damage to assets.

These incidents not only compromised the security of public facilities but also disrupted the daily operations of NADI and the delivery of essential services to local communities.

MCMC, in a statement today,  highlighted that the arrest of the suspect was made possible through coordinated operations and effective information-sharing between JPJKK Johor, IPD Pontian, MCMC, and NADI management.

The integrated approach enabled authorities to conduct rapid investigations and identify recurring patterns of break-ins across multiple NADI locations in Johor, thereby mitigating ongoing risks to public facility security and community service operations.

In response, NADI has initiated a thorough security assessment of the affected centres, which includes improvements to access control measures, enhanced physical monitoring, and the implementation of more targeted safety awareness programmes.

“These steps aim to reduce the risk of repeat incidents, enhance staff preparedness, and strengthen the role of local communities in crime prevention,” MCMC stated.
