KOTA KINABALU – A 43-year-old man died after he was buried under soil that collapsed on him while he was excavating earth near Bandar Sierra in Tuaran.

The victim has been identified as Sukian Rappe, a foreigner doing earth transporting work in Sabah.

The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call around 4.09pm today and immediately deployed rescue machinery to the site.

Sukian was successfully pulled out from under the soil at around 5.17pm and was declared dead by Health Ministry officials. – The Vibes, December 30, 2020
