A SENIOR Malaysian Armed Forces officer, who is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in an investigation into the misuse of funds, continued to have his statement recorded today.
MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the officer was released at midnight last night.
"He is expected to be called back at 10 am to continue recording his statement," he said.
On Sunday, the officer involved was called to the MACC Headquarters in Putrajaya at 11 am to complete the investigation into the misuse of funds issue.
It was earlier reported that the MACC was investigating a top officer of the ATM and he was expected to be charged in the near future in connection with corruption issues.
Azam was reported to have said that the investigation involving the individual was almost done. If the Attorney General agrees, the officer involved would be brought to court for prosecution. – January 12, 2026
