A MALE student of a secondary school in Batu Pahat pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court today to a charge of sexually assaulting a disabled female student (OKU) in class last month.

The 13-year-old accused made the plea before Magistrate Arun Noval Dass after the charge was brought under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act (AKKSTKK) 2017.

According to the charge, the accused is alleged to have committed the act against the 16-year-old victim in class at noon on January 29.

According to Section 14(a), punishment for juvenile offenders includes imposing a good behaviour bond and complying with the conditions set, as well as being ordered to serve the sentence at Henry Gurney School.

Based on a report, the victim told police that a male student came to her while she was completing her schoolwork.

From police investigations, the accused is said to have entered the victim's class through the back door. At the time of the incident, the victim was alone in the class as all her friends were in the science laboratory.

The victim has been disabled since she was one year old and can only move around using a wheelchair.

By chance, a discipline teacher passed by the victim's classroom, and the victim called the teacher and told him about the incident.

The teacher searched for the accused through a video recording, which was then shown to the victim for identification purposes.

Once she identified him, the accused was taken to the discipline room for further action.

The prosecution was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutor Firdaus Ruslan, while the accused was not represented.

The court allowed bail of RM1,500 and set May 13 for mention of the social inquiry report, facts, and sentencing order. – February 23, 2026
