THE Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Affairs Department has launched an investigation into a 27-year-old woman allegedly displaying disrespect towards the holy month of Ramadan during a livestream on her TikTok account last Sunday.

Beria Harian cited Director of JHEAINS, Datuk Mohd Asri Abdullah, confirming that the woman was detained in Kuala Pilah yesterday and is currently being investigated under Section 50 of the 1992 Negeri Sembilan Syariah Criminal Enactment for allegedly insulting or disparaging Islam.

“The individual was observed interacting live with her followers at around 6.45pm,” Mohd Asri said in a statement today, noting that during the broadcast, the woman was openly eating and drinking.

He advised the public, particularly the Muslim community, to remain sensitive to religious observances and to honour Ramadan by practising exemplary behaviour consistent with Islamic teachings.

“JHEAINS is committed to ensuring that all matters concerning Muslims in the state are conducted in an orderly manner, with wisdom, and in accordance with Shariah and prevailing laws,” he added.

The case follows viral social media footage showing the woman drinking openly while engaging with followers during the TikTok livestream, sparking widespread attention and prompting the department’s intervention. - February 25, 2026
