SOCIAL media influencer and rapper Caprice has filed a RM10 million defamation suit against former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli, alleging that the Pandan Member of Parliament failed to apologise or remove social media posts accusing him of making defamatory claims.

Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, confirmed that the writ was filed by his lawyer on 26 February. Service of the suit was carried out shortly thereafter.

“For public information, I have instructed my lawyer Mohd Rezan Ezra to file a defamation suit against Rafizi Ramli on 26 February (Thursday).

“I have been informed by my lawyer that the process of serving the suit will be carried out tomorrow (today).

“I wish to clarify that this action was taken after Rafizi failed to apologise for his social media posts regarding his allegation that I had defamed him, as detailed in two letters of demand dated 20 and 23 February 2026,” Buletin TV3 cited him saying in a statement.

The dispute arose after Caprice demanded on 21 February that Rafizi remove all related social media posts and issue an apology by 5pm the same day, failing which legal proceedings would commence.

The contention centres on posts by Rafizi responding to Caprice’s allegations concerning an alleged RM2.5 billion corruption case involving the award of a contract to a company said to be linked to the former minister.

In the suit, Caprice is seeking RM10 million in damages, a public apology and an injunction against Rafizi. He said he hoped the legal action would restore his reputation following what he described as allegations made by the former minister.

Caprice also addressed remarks made by Rafizi in a podcast titled Yang Berhenti Menteri, broadcast on 20 February, in which the former minister discussed his relationship with an individual said to have had a conflict of interest during his tenure at the Ministry of Economy.

“In the podcast, he did not at all deny a business relationship with the Chief Executive Officer of Itramas Corporation, Lee Choo Boo, who at one time held shares in Invoke.

“He also did not deny that he had involvement in the NETR (National Energy Transition Roadmap) project that was awarded to Itramas Corporation while he was serving as Minister of Economy,” he said. - February 28, 2026
