MALAYSIA has called on Israel, the United States and Iran to halt all provocative actions and to implement an immediate and unconditional ceasefire amid escalating violence in the Middle East, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

Anwar urged all three countries to return to the negotiating table for diplomacy and dialogue, warning that any provocation would risk intensifying the crisis, threatening regional stability and drawing more nations into a conflict that could be difficult to contain.

“An immediate and unconditional ceasefire is an urgent necessity in the aftermath of Israel’s attacks on Iran, which have now pushed the Middle East to the brink of catastrophe,” he said in a statement today.

“Malaysia strongly urges Israel, the United States and Iran to cease all provocative actions and to return to the table of diplomatic negotiation and dialogue,” he added.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came as reports circulated of strikes involving Israeli and United States forces against targets in Iran.

Iranian state media has claimed that senior leaders and civilians were among those affected, including allegations regarding the country’s supreme leader and a school facility, though these accounts have not been independently verified. - March 1, 2026
