A SHOOTING incident in Jalan Keretapi Lama, Tok Muda, Kapar, ended in tragedy today when one of the suspects, a motorcycle passenger, was killed after being struck by a vehicle driven by a local man.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed that the fatal collision occurred at 9:51 a.m., involving two local men riding a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the rider sustained injuries.

“Initial investigations indicate the incident began when both suspects on the motorcycle allegedly fired shots at a worker who was driving a vehicle in Kampung Perepat. The vehicle driver pursued the motorcycle to Jalan Keretapi Lama,” Shazeli said in a statement.

He explained that during the pursuit, one of the motorcyclists allegedly brandished an object resembling a firearm.

The driver then deliberately collided with the motorcycle, causing both individuals to fall and be dragged at the entrance to Taman Sri Kapar.

Police records revealed that the deceased passenger had a long criminal history, including 23 previous convictions for serious offences such as murder, attempted murder, and gang robbery.

The injured motorcyclist had 10 prior criminal records and was listed as wanted under Section 130V of the Penal Code.

The 49-year-old local man who drove the vehicle has been arrested. He also has a history of drug and criminal offences, including under Sections 302 and 307 of the Penal Code. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Shazeli urged the public to refrain from spreading speculation that could interfere with the police investigation and encouraged anyone with information to come forward to assist authorities.

Earlier, police had confirmed that the shooting left one individual severely injured and two suspects injured at the scene. - March 5, 2026
