MALAYSIA has obtained a firm commitment from the Government of Egypt to facilitate the delivery of 374 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza via the Rafah border crossing, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.

Speaking about a recent meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Anwar said the pledge ensures that the aid will reach more than 100,000 residents in Gaza who are in urgent need.

“Alhamdulillah, President El-Sisi provided clear assurance and commitment to ease access, allowing the immediate distribution of aid to our brothers and sisters in Gaza,” he said.

The Prime Minister underscored Malaysia’s resolve in the face of obstacles imposed by the Israeli regime, which he said continues to hinder humanitarian efforts in the region.

“Malaysia will never yield to any obstruction, particularly from the Zionist regime in Israel that continues to impede humanitarian initiatives,” Anwar stated in a Facebook post.

He further emphasised Malaysia’s principled stance on defending the rights of the oppressed.

“At a time when the world is tested by indifference and hypocrisy, Malaysia will continue to stand as a principled and dignified voice, defending the rights of the oppressed,” he said.

Anwar also appealed to Malaysians to pray for the safe delivery of the aid.

“I ask everyone to pray that all arrangements are eased and that this assistance reaches our brothers and sisters in Gaza safely, God willing,” he added. - March 29, 2026
