A WINDOW tint technician has been remanded for one week following allegations of rape and physical sexual assault against a fourteen-year-old girl he had met only forty-eight hours prior through a messaging application.

The Batu Pahat Magistrate Court has granted a seven-day remand order against a seventeen-year-old suspect to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the alleged assault of the minor.

Magistrate Nurasidah A Rahman issued the order today, effective through next Thursday, as authorities probe the incident under Section 376 of the Penal Code and Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect, who is employed at a vehicle tinting workshop, established contact with the victim via WhatsApp.

The pair reportedly agreed to meet in person shortly after their initial digital introduction.

It is alleged that the suspect transported the girl to his place of work, where the assault occurred at approximately 1.40 am yesterday.

The incident came to light when the teenager returned to her family home in a state of visible distress.

Upon being questioned by her mother, the victim recounted the ordeal, prompting an immediate report to the local authorities.

Acting on this information, police apprehended the suspect at a residential property to assist with the ongoing criminal inquiry. - April 17, 2026
