SURVEY and Mapping Department (JUPEM) Director-General arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court complex shortly before 8am today, where he is expected to face formal charges relating to the alleged misappropriation of RM900,000 in government funds.
Dressed in a white shirt and dark-coloured suit jacket, he was accompanied by a woman upon arrival at the court complex.
Court records indicate that the charge will be read before High Court Judge Suzana Hussin at 9am.
The case follows remarks made on 17 April by the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Tan Sri Azam Baki, who confirmed that the JUPEM director-general and a senior officer would be charged in court within the week over their alleged involvement in the misappropriation scheme.
On 11 February, MACC detained two senior officers from a government agency, including a director-general, on suspicion of conspiring to divert public funds for personal gain, in an investigation linked to the same RM900,000 sum. - April 22, 2026
