NEGERI Sembilan Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, said he would continue to administer the state, though 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen withdrew their support for him.
Speaking at a press conference at his official residence in Seremban today, he explained that he had informed the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, about the current position of the assemblymen who supported him.
His Majesty, he said, ordered that the current administration continue as usual.
"We will run the administration of the existing (state) government until there is a clear decision. I will continue my duties (as Menteri Besar)," he said, also informing that the state administration would continue to run as a minority government.
For now, he said, there are no plans to meet with BN assemblymen to resolve the conflict.
Also present at the press conference were DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke and state Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders.
He also said that he did not see the need for the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) to be dissolved for the time being.
He was surprised by the action of UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen withdrawing support for him today, explaining that no views have been expressed by any party stating the need for the dissolution of the DUN.
"At the moment, there is no such view (proposing the dissolution of the DUN)," he said.
All Exco members and State Assemblymen (ADUN) from DAP have reiterated their support for the state leadership under Aminuddin.
Negri Sembilan has 36 state seats. Following the August 12, 2023, state election, Umno/BN formed the state government with Pakatan Harapan after winning 31 seats, while Perikatan Nasional secured five seats. - April 27, 2026
