Negeri Sembilan crisis: 14 assemblymen agree to remain in the Unity Government
Zahid said the matter was decided in his meeting with the 14 assemblymen today - April 30, 2026

ALL the Negeri Sembilan assemblymen who withdrew their support for Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, agreed to remain within the framework of the Unity Government in the state.

Umno President, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said the matter was decided in his meeting with the 14 assemblymen today.

According to him, the meeting gave all parties a chance to explain the real reasons behind the action of withdrawing support, which had previously sparked various political interpretations.

"Withdrawing support is ongoing, but we remain with the Unity Government in Negeri Sembilan.

"This is a matter that must be reinterpreted so that there is no wrong perception or misinterpretation on it.

"So, I would like to correct the perception that needs to be corrected," he said

He said this after officiating the Forum on Strengthening Trusted Access Across the Malaysian Digital Ecosystem and the MyDigital ID Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony today.

He stressed that the decision was made in good faith to ensure the state's royal institution and adat customs were respected and upheld by the people.

He said the action should not be misconstrued as an attempt to topple the state government or form a new administration through the back door. – April 30, 2026
