A FOREIGN woman in her 20s has died after falling from the 13th floor of an apartment building in Nilai in the early hours of Friday, in an incident that occurred as police were conducting a narcotics raid.

According to Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad, officers from the Nilai District Police Headquarters were alerted to the situation at about 1.51am while carrying out operations at the premises in Bandar Baru Nilai.

“During the raid, the woman is believed to have tried to escape through the balcony of the apartment unit before slipping and falling from the 13th floor,” he said in a statement.

A motorcycle patrol unit dispatched to the scene found the victim unconscious.

Medical personnel from a local health clinic later confirmed her death at the scene. Her body has since been transferred to Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Alzafny said preliminary investigations have not uncovered any signs of criminal involvement.

“The case has been classified as sudden death, but further investigations are ongoing, including recording statements from witnesses,” he said.

He also urged the public to refrain from speculation, warning that it could interfere with the investigation.

Authorities have appealed for anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the Nilai district police or the nearest police station. - May 1, 2026
