TENGKU Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz is ready to defend the PKR Pandan Parliamentary seat in the 16th General Election (GE16) if he is given the opportunity.

Zafrul, who is also the Prime Minister's Senior Political Advisor, however, said that any decision on the selection of candidates to contest in GE16 is entirely subject to the party's leadership.

"I am ready to contest anywhere, if given the opportunity, and this decision is up to the party," he said at the Korban Perdana Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Pandan press conference today.

He was commenting on the possibility of contesting in the Pandan Parliament after the incumbent, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli relinquished his position after leaving PKR on May 17.

Recently, Rafizi and former Setiawangsa MP, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, announced their exit from PKR and took over Parti Bersama Malaysia (BERSAMA), which was established in 2016. – May 27, 2026
