BERSATU Information Chief, Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, stressed that cooperation involving Bersatu with Pakatan Harapan (PH) was never discussed in any party meeting before.
He said claims that Bersatu will join PH through the role played by the party's Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, are completely untrue.
In fact, he described the cooperation as something that does not make sense because Bersatu is among the parties that once toppled the PH government after the 14th General Election.
"Not true. Never discussed in the Political Bureau, MPT (Supreme Leadership Council) or any informal discussions within the party.
"If there is any effort in that direction, of course, there would be signs or shadows of a movement or operation in that direction. For example, as happened with the SD (sworn declaration) movement by followers of Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin,
"So far, there are no indications in that direction. It doesn't make sense," he said in a statement today.
Previously, there were rumours that Bersatu would return to PH, following the party's strained relationship with PAS.
In fact, DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke had previously reminded PH to be careful about forming partnerships with any party, especially Bersatu and PAS.
Loke reportedly said this was because PH had bitter experiences working with both parties before.
At the same time, Tun Faisal said that so far, Bersatu was not taking an approach like Umno to work with PH.
He also defended Mohamed Azmin, that the former Selangor Menteri Besar had nothing to do with the purge in Bersatu because it was under the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Board.
"The Disciplinary Board carries out its duties as provided for by the Bersatu Constitution to act on those who violate the party's constitution and discipline, betray the party, negotiate illegally and without a mandate with outside parties and other disciplinary offences.
"Not everyone was sacked. Some were suspended, and some were also given warnings. It has nothing to do with Mohamed Azmin. He did not violate the Constitution and the Code of Ethics and conduct for party members," he said. – May 28, 2026
