A LORRY driver was arrested and remanded for six days by the Magistrate's Court in Kluang, today, on suspicion of raping a teenager, causing her to become six months pregnant.

The remand application for the suspect, aged in his 30s, from today until Wednesday was issued by Magistrate Nurasidah A Rahman to allow further investigation to be carried out under Section 376 of the Penal Code.

According to a report lodged by the mother, the incident has been going on since last year.

Initial investigations found that the suspect committed the act at a homestay and hotel in Ayer Hitam, near here.

The last time the 15-year-old victim was raped occurred at a hotel in December last year.

Following the report, the police conducted an investigation and arrested the suspect to assist in further investigations. – May 29, 2026
