PAKATAN Harapan (PH) Communications Director, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, has reminded political leaders to be more cautious in issuing statements that could affect relations between parties in the Unity Government.
This follows the statement by Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, regarding the Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) stance in refusing to cooperate with DAP in the upcoming State Election (PRN).
"It's a bit too much," he said today.
Earlier, Johor BN Chairman, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, insisted that he would not cooperate with DAP to apparently respect the wishes of the people of the state who want BN to move on its own in the PRN.
The Johor Menteri Besar claimed that the stance was not driven by racial sentiments or arrogance.
On the contrary, he stressed that it was a matter of principle, the mandate received and the responsibility to the people of Johor.
In fact, he stressed that he would be more willing to relinquish the Menteri Besar position than to work with DAP in the state government.
Meanwhile, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Vice President, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, also reminded all parties not to take too rigid a stance on political cooperation because the situation could change in the future.
"Do not burn bridges. Love is the same, hate is the same. We do not know what fate will come, so do not be too extreme and inflexible, do not be too rigid," he said. – June 8, 2026
