PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) component parties are satisfied with the seat distribution meeting for the 16th Johor State Election (PRN).
Leaders from Bersatu, Gerakan and the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP), after a meeting at the PAS headquarters today, described the two-day seat distribution negotiations since yesterday as being carried out in harmony.
Bersatu Vice President, who is acting as Deputy President, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, gave a positive signal when asked to comment on the results of the meeting today.
He said the meeting, chaired by PN's Director-General of Elections, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor from PAS, successfully concluded important matters for the Johor PRN by mutual agreement.
"We will work together. God willing, we will work to succeed," he said when met after the meeting at the PAS headquarters today.
Gerakan President, Datuk Dr Dominic Lau, was also satisfied with the results of the meeting, which he said were held in a peaceful environment without any conflict.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP) President, P Punithan, said that although PAS and Bersatu severed political ties, the meeting succeeded in bringing all PN component parties to the table.
"The meeting was held harmoniously. We want (PN component parties) to help each other; the important thing is to contest (the election) using the PN logo. We have no problem with anyone.
"If we look at it today in terms of seat negotiations, we want to help all parties, help Gerakan, PAS and Bersatu. All parties will contest under the PN logo. There will be no overlap of Bersatu and PAS seats.
"Finished harmoniously, there is no heat. We know who has the advantage, who can help, we want to win together, not by each party. There needs to be a spirit of teamwork," he said. – June 24, 2026
