THE Johor government has for the first time appointed 10 deputy executive councillors to strengthen the administration and accelerate the implementation of policies, projects and programs towards realising the Maju Johor 2030 agenda.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, said the appointments were done after receiving the approval of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, to increase the administrative capacity of the state government in line with Johor's rapid development.
"The state government will ensure that all manifesto promises that have been presented are translated into actions and results that will be felt by all the people of Bangsa Johor.
"At the same time, the implementation of the Johor Economic Transformation Plan (JTEP) will be among the main focuses to ensure that more comprehensive, balanced and inclusive development in each district can continue," he said.
Onn Hafiz said that each Deputy Exco will assist their respective Exco in monitoring the implementation of projects and programs, coordinating actions in the field and expediting the resolution of the people's issues.
"Each Deputy Exco needs to work closely with the Exco, relevant departments and agencies to ensure that every government initiative can be implemented effectively and the benefits reach the grassroots level," he said.
He also congratulated all those appointed and described the appointment as a great trust in strengthening the delivery of state government services.
The Johor state election on July 11 saw BN win 48 out of 56 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats, and was given the mandate to form the state government for the new term.
After Onn Hafiz was sworn in as Johor Menteri Besar on July 12, a total of 10 Exco members were sworn in on July 18. – July 22, 2026
