SUV crashes into KKIA departure hall entrance, female driver injured

A FEMALE driver was injured after the sport utility vehicle (SUV) she was driving is believed to have lost control before crashing into the departure hall entrance on Level 3, Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), today.

In the incident at 4.20 pm, the glass at the departure hall entrance was shattered due to the crash, while glass fragments were scattered in the passenger walkway area.

It is understood that the driver is believed to have pressed the accelerator before her vehicle crashed into the departure hall entrance.

The female driver was injured and sent to the hospital for further treatment. – August 7, 2026
