GOVERNMENT hospital congestion, the delivery of major investment commitments and the distribution of development funds are among the issues MPs are scheduled to raise in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (PH-Port Dickson) will seek details from the Health Minister on average waiting times at hospital emergency departments and concrete measures to reduce congestion and ensure patients receive timely treatment.
Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa (PH-Sekijang) will ask whether the government is committed to tabling the draft Health Services Commission Bill for its first reading before the end of 2027, in line with the reform agenda outlined in the 2023 Health White Paper.
The implementation of Geely's US$10 billion investment commitment in Tanjung Malim will also come under scrutiny, with Tan Kok Wai (PH-Cheras) seeking the number and detailed list of projects realised under the commitment from the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister.
On disaster preparedness, Datuk Verdon Bahanda (Independent-Kudat) will ask the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister about measures to strengthen disaster risk mapping and how updated data is being used for early warning systems, development planning and preparedness.
Transport policy will be another focus, with Khairil Nizam Khirudin (PN-Jerantut) seeking an explanation for the postponement of enforcement of speed limiter device (SLD) installation requirements and the government's assessment of re-establishing the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).
During Minister's Question Time, Syahredzan Johan (PH-Bangi) will ask the Prime Minister to explain the rationale for involving government departments, government-linked investment companies (GLICs), government-linked companies (GLCs) and statutory bodies in development projects.
Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PN-Besut) will also seek details from the Prime Minister on the formula and criteria used to determine constituency development fund (CDF) allocations for MPs. - October 27, 2026
