KUALA LUMPUR – All Prasarana Malaysia Bhd officers and staff under Category B who had close contact with group chairman Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman have been instructed to undergo Covid-19 swab tests.

This comes after Tajuddin tested positive for the disease, said a statement by the group’s corporate communications unit today.

“(Staff) who belong in Category C have been placed under home quarantine immediately for 10 days until January 29, or until those from Category B have been found negative.”

It said Tajuddin, who is also Pasir Salak MP, came to the office on Monday morning for a meeting with senior officers.

He also came in to work the next day for yet another meeting, before heading straight to hospital after finding out that his Umno colleague, Padang Rengas lawmaker Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, is down with Covid-19.

It is understood that Tajuddin was present at a press conference where Nazri announced his withdrawal of support for Perikatan Nasional.

Prasarana confirmed that its headquarters at Menara UOA in Bangsar have undergone sanitisation.

“All three levels of the Prasarana offices at Tower B, Menara UOA, underwent sanitisation and deep decontamination on January 18, starting at 3pm.

“Additional sanitisation and deep decontamination will be done today, following the latest development.”

It said the offices remain open in line with the National Security Council’s standard operating procedures, where only 30% of management staff are physically present.

Other personnel have been instructed to work from home until the end of the movement control order. – The Vibes, January 20, 2021
