KUALA LUMPUR – Though Selangor has consistently recorded the most Covid-19 infections in the country, Johor is the state with the highest infectivity rate.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in a tweet, said the southern state had an infectivity rate of 1.2 as of yesterday, meaning each person down with the coronavirus is likely to infect one or more individuals.
Behind Johor is Kuala Lumpur, with an infectivity rate, or R-naught (R0), of 1.19, and Selangor (1.16).
The state with the lowest infectivity rate is Perlis at 0.75.
The national infectivity rate stands at 1.15, said Dr Noor Hisham.

Selangor yesterday saw another 1,365 infections, Johor (1,070) and Kuala Lumpur (706).
Twitter user @KIMBOON31146777, in a reply to Dr Noor Hisham’s tweet, said the authorities have repeatedly declared that a shutdown of the economy is out of the question, as it will devastate livelihoods.
She said the situation is not good, and asked if the healthcare system can cope.
