KUALA LUMPUR – Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has threatened to take legal against Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi after the Umno Supreme Council member accused the prime minister of not wanting to self-isolate upon returning from Indonesia.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a statement today strongly denies the allegation by Puad that the new three-day quarantine ruling for ministers was gazetted because Muhyiddin refused to obey standard operating procedures after returning from his official visit.
The PMO said the prime minister was issued a Home Surveillance and Observation Order, and was made to wear a wristband as soon as he arrived from Jakarta last Friday, adding that he is currently undergoing home quarantine.
“The slander by Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi is malicious and intended to tarnish the good name of the prime minister,” the PMO said.
“Legal action will be taken against him if he fails to publicly apologise.” – The Vibes, February 9, 2021
