KUALA LUMPUR – The authorities have implemented the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) in Felda Triang 3 in Bera, Pahang, starting tomorrow till March 3.
In his daily Covid-19 press update, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the EMCO was implemented after Putrajaya received a risk assessment by the MCO Technical Committee as well as advice from the Health Ministry (MoH).
“The MoH has confirmed that there are nine positive cases reported (there) and up till February 16, 2021, as many as 79 close contacts have been identified in this locality,” said Ismail Sabri.
The EMCO at Perumahan Kelapa Sawit and Taman Lamanda Permai in the Felda settlement will involve 1,326 residents.
MoH will conduct targeted screening tests on all residents involved to ensure that there are no community infections.
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested 594 individuals yesterday for breaching Covid-19 standard operating procedures.
Out of those arrested, 569 were issued compounds while another 25 individuals were held under remanded custody.
The offences recorded include crossing district/state borders without permits (127 cases), no physical distancing (144), failure to prepare record-taking equipment for customers (74), not wearing a face mask (77), leaving home without good reason (57), taking passengers over the limit in a commercial vehicle (31), having entertainment centre activities (23), operating without permit/beyond permitted hours (five), undertaking barred sports activities (17), breaching quarantine (one), and other violations (38).
